How to Update TDO Software (Version 11)

Overview

If you are looking to update TDO Software for your office or for a client’s office, please follow the steps below. Upgrading TDO Software is a fairly simple process, but please make sure that you allocate enough time as once the installation process is started, TDO can not be opened.

The process of updating TDO falls under your IT’s responsibility, so please make sure that they call TDO Tech Support at (858)558-3696 if they have any questions prior to updating.

Before You Begin

Step 1 - Login to TDO4Endo.com

Prior to updating, please log in to www.tdo4endo.com to see if there are any steps that are specific to the version you are installing. It is not common to have instructions specific to a particular build, but they will be posted on our website if there is anything of particular interest to pay attention to.

Step 1 - Download the files and perform routine server maintenance

After logging in to www.tdo4endo.com  find the most recent version in the Download area. The name will be:

TDOProfessional113xx.exe (the file name will vary depending on the current revision)

Additional files that may be necessary to update include SetupDrugs.exe and SetupCanada.exe (if your office is in Canada). Always check to see if the file sizes vary at all between the version located in your TDO Builds directory. If you have any questions about this, please contact TDO Technical Support.

Step 2 - Backup TDO Server Data

After everyone has exited TDO, please make sure to utilize the TDO backup utility and run a backup of the server data only. After it completes, make sure to view the log to see that it has completed without errors. This is a necessary step in the event that the update fails and they need to revert back to the previous version.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you are unable to find the server directory previously mapped, Disable User Account Controls and reboot the computer. Rerun the installer.

If you receive a message that there is no database file found in that directory, verify that the Patients.mdf on Server has the proper permissions and Everyone has a full read/write access.

If you receive a message that TDO.mdw could not be opened

Reboot the computer and rerun the installer
