SMS - Windows system tray - notification

Overview

In order to enable the TDO SMS notification on any workstation, please follow the steps below:

Note: This feature is implemented in 12.373g.

Detailed Steps 

  • Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\TDOffice\DotNet

  • Run TDOSMSNotification.exe

  • The “TDO SMS Notification” will run in the System Tray.

    In order to make the TDOSMS icon always visible, right-click and go to ‘Taskbar Settings’ on the computer, under Notification Area, click on ‘Select which icons to appear on the task bar, and turn on “TDOSMSNotification”.

  • The “TDO SMS Notification” checks for new messages every 10 minutes.
  • This feature can be enabled on multiple computers.
  • The TDOSMSNotification.exe can be placed in the computer’s startup folder so whenever the computer starts the application will launch.  Right click the TDOSMSNotification.exe found in C:\Program Files (x86)\TDOffice\DotNet and go to "create shortcut" and it should save the shortcut to your desktop. Then put the shortcut in the Startup folder: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp

When a new message arrives the TDOSMS notification will display a red circle.

When the user double-clicks on the TDO icon, it will launch the “View Text Message Status” window.  Not only will it launch the “View Text Message Status” window but it will also automate the selection of the last doctor that was logged in, and it will automate the last Period that was selected and automate the “Search” button click.  It will display the messages with those criteria without the user having to do any user interaction.  Of course the very first time this will run, the user will need to select the doctor and the period to search.  When they close the “View Text Message Status” the selected doctor and the selected period will be saved in TDO.ini.  Once saved the next time they launch the “View Text Message Status” window from the “TDO SMS Notification” in system tray it will be automated to display the messages for the last selected doctor and the last selected period.

To close the “TDO SMS Notification” users would simply right-click the icon on the system tray and select “Exit”.
