A Microsoft Word update Version 2607 (Build 20228.20190), was rolled out on August 11th, 2026. This update causes an issue inside the Letters module, where images do not show after saving a letter (but not sending). An error message may appear to the effect that the link to the image is broken, or that the remote server does not exist. Microsoft Word Version 2607 (Build 20228.20158)  released on August 4th, 2026 does not present this issue. 

Our recommendation for offices encountering this issue is to have their IT double check their Microsoft Word version and revert to Build 20228.20158, if necessary. We also strongly recommend all offices convert to Cloud Letters to avoid Microsoft-related issues in the future.
