Performing a Diagnosis in TDO

Overview

TDO is designed to walk the user through a series of steps that rationalize the diagnostic process.

These steps are as follows:

Review medical history.
Acquire the necessary and appropriately angled preoperative radiographs of diagnostic quality.
Listen to the patient’s history and description of their symptoms, if any.
Document his or her chief complaint and perform a series of diagnostic tests designed to confirm or elucidate the signs and symptoms that are present or that have been related to you by the patient.
Record the results of the tests and reach a tentative pulpal and periapical diagnosis.
Present a treatment plan as well as discuss any alternative treatments available. Discuss in detail the procedure proposed with drawings, examples, and other educational materials using the case presentation page.
Quote the fee and number of anticipated visits including follow up care.
Answer any questions the patient has and obtain an informed consent.
Schedule for treatment or begin treatment if appropriate.
