SQL Server Database Size Limit

TDO uses Microsoft SQL Server (2000, 2005, 2008, or 2016) to manage your database. The Express edition of Microsoft SQL Server has a 10GB limit on database files. If yours is a single-location practice, your database is most likely hosted on an Express edition of Microsoft SQL Server.

If yours is a multi-location practice (Replicated), then your primary server is most likely running a Standard edition of Microsoft SQL Server, and the satellite servers running Express.

If your single-location practice’s database grows beyond 10GB, you will need to purchase a Microsoft SQL Server license (we recommend the Standard edition) with the appropriate amount of CALs.

If one (or more) of the satellite servers in your replicated practice has a database that grows beyond 10GB, you will need to buy a Microsoft SQL Server license for that location(s), with the appropriate amount of CALs.

If you have further questions, please contact your IT provider and/or TDO Support.
