TDOxQB sync - QuickBooks no longer supports QB desktop 2020 & 2021 (EOL 5/31/24)

Support for QuickBooks Desktop 2020 (ended) & 2021 (EOL 5/31/24)

At this time, QuickBooks has discontinued support for 2020 versions of QuickBooks Desktop Pro, Premiere and Enterprise. They will be discontinuing support for 2021 versions on May 31st 2024.

It is important when you upgrade your QuickBooks that you purchase the Desktop 2023 or 2024 version and not the online version. The TDOxQB Sync WILL NOT WORK WITH QUICKBOOKS ONLINE.

May 31st is the discontinuation of QuickBooks Desktop version 2021: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/learn-support/en-us/help-article/feature-preferences/quickbooks-desktop-service-discontinuation-policy/L17cXxlie_US_en_US.

Your current subscription of QuickBooks will continue working with updates from Intuit. You can purchase Desktop Enterprise if you are buying a new subscription.

Here is a 3rd party source of information on QuickBooks Desktop Pro EOL after July 31st for New Subscribers only: https://www.firmofthefuture.com/product-update/faq-desktop-stopsell/.
Desktop Enterprise will continue being available to new subscribers even after July 31st.

Regardless of the QB EOL policy we understand the importance of the integration with the Online versions of QB and we have raised the priority of this integration. We will not be able to deliver this conversion before May 31st 2024 but you do not need to worry about the QuickBooks desktop discontinuation as Intuit will only sunset Desktop Pro Editions after July 31st AND only for new subscribers.

Updating Quickbooks

When updating your QuickBooks, please be aware of the following important considerations:

  1. Make sure that the company file name and location are not changed during the update
  2. Disable QuickBooks from starting with windows
  3. Under QuickBooks preferences, disable the setting to “Keep QuickBooks Running for faster startup” if applicable to your version
  4. QuickBooks 2022 and above does NOT remove old versions of QuickBooks during the installation process. This creates issues for the sync because it will pull up the first version of QB it finds which is typically the older version. To resolve this issue, you will need to remove the previous version(s) of QuickBooks from the machine and then repair the 2022 installation
  5. TDO needs to be installed at both the server and the workstation:
