Entering Anesthesia
Estimated Reading Time: 1 MinutesOverview
This article outlines how to record anesthesia that the patient was given in TDO.
Detailed Instructions
There are buttons to open the Anesthesia page on both the Treatment page and the Prescription page.
The dental assistant fills out the anesthesia information as the doctor administers the anesthetic. Recorded are the kind of anesthesia, the type of injection used, the amount given, and the date and time administered.
You can customize all of these lists by pressing the + button or by right-clicking and selecting Edit List.
There is also a way to auto-populate this form if you routinely give the same kind and amount of anesthesia. The Anesthesia Autofill feature fills in the anesthesia, type, quantity, and date all at once. You can customize this auto-fill routine from the Anesthesia Autofill options. To use an autofill, select it from the combo box and click the arrow button.
There is also a bulk anesthesia entry if you frequently give the same multiple injections - for example, a mandibular block and a long buccal injection. These are customized in Anesthesia Explosion Groups. To use an explosion autofill, select it from the combo box (the combo box to the right of the individual autofill) and click the arrow button.
The other part of this form documents the Nitrous Oxide parameters, if needed. The form is a pop-up and is self-explanatory.
