CBCT Integrations with TDO
Estimated Reading Time: 1 MinutesOverview
When speaking of 3D CBCT machines, there are only three companies that have integrations with TDO.
Carestream, J Morita, and PreXion Excelsior
For instructions on how to open a previously acquired scan saved into TDO, please refer to the following article: Opening A 3D Scan from TDO Image Organizer
What is meant by integration?
When the word integration is used it refers to a link between two software programs. For TDO, this means that after properly configuring settings in the Control Table, the User Interface for either of the previously mentioned companies will launch and a scan can be acquired. Their software is still used, but in conjunction with our software. After successful acquisition, a link will be created in the Image Organizer for the patient which when double clicked from a machine that is configured properly, the 3D scan will launch. Also, snapshots from the 3D scan can be taken directly from the software which will also show up in TDO.
This is due to efforts by the developers at TDO working in coordination with the aforementioned companies.
For a better idea of how this works, please watch the following video:
Will another 3D machine work with TDO?
As it stands, J Morita, Carestream, and Prexion are the only companies that have 3D integrations with TDO.
Any other vendor saying they integrate with TDO will not have any CBCT functionality in TDO even if they mention some sort of TWAIN integration. This is simply not the case. It is possible that they could create a standalone application and show your office how to take screenshots which could perhaps be imported in TDO as jpg images, but there will be absolutely no link between their standalone software and TDO.
