Multiple CBCT Unit Configuration

Estimated Reading Time: 3 Minutes

Overview

When an office switches from one CBCT manufacturer to another, the volumes from the older CBCT manufacturer may not open in TDO. This feature has been implemented to allow offices to be able to open/view 3D volumes from different CBCT manufacturers. Offices will also be able to configure multiple workstations to view CBCT scans without having to go to each computer to manually configure within TDO.

This feature moves the CBCT configuration has been moved from the Edit Control Table>Workstation Settings menu to a new area.  In 12.295, the configuration is now located in Setup > Site Configuration > Add/Edit Usernames and Passwords > TDO Device Configurations tab. In 12.316 or newer, the configuration will be located in Setup>Site Configuration>Device Configuration.

For CBCT settings that were configured prior to 12.311b, those settings will be moved to  Setup > Site Configuration > Add/Edit Usernames and Passwords > TDO Device Configurations tab. To achieve this, you must first open a CBCT volume from the Image Organizer. At that point, the settings will be moved to the new TDO Device Configuation tab.

This feature is implemented in 12.295.

Important notes for Replicated Offices:
As outlined in https://kb.tdo4endo.com/article.php?id=626&oid=65. ALL workstations must have unique names. This includes the CBCT machines in each office. If you have two or more computer with the same name they must be renamed. If the duplicate computer name is no longer in use please contact support to remove from your database.

Note:  TDO does not synchronize CBCT scans between locations. If a scan is taken in one location it will not be visible in the other location(s). If you would like CBCT scans to be viewed across locations, your IT will need to configure and maintain a third-party synchronization program to sync the CBCT directories between locations.
